Physica is a club, more of a society, that exists to help students transform themselves into contributing members of the academic and professional world. Traditional coursework develops only one range of skills. Other skills student that need to flourish professionally include effective communication, and personal interactions. Alongside experience in leadership, establishing a personal network of contacts, presenting scholarly work in professional meetings and journals, research opportunities, and outreach services to the campus and local communities. Through its members, advisers, mentors, and leadership, Physica enables participation in national initiatives and locally impacts the community. Physica wants to support every undergraduate student with a interest in physics and astronomy excel; and, seeks to assist related departments to help students succeed inside and outside of the classroom.
The only requirement for membership is that you be interested in physics; including but not limited to, astronomy, chemistry, computer science, engineering, geology, mathematics, medicine, etc.
Physica is directly associated with the Society of Physics Students (SPS), through the Florida Polytechnic University's Chapter (SPS - Ch.2054), which follows the same pledge and ideals as Physica.
