Anthropology
Anthropology at Flagler College is the study of what makes us human, explored through a holistic, cross-cultural, and historical lens. Drawing from the social sciences, humanities, and biological sciences, the program equips students with the tools to understand human behavior, culture, and evolution across time.
Students can tailor their academic experience by focusing on one of three subfields: archaeology, physical anthropology, or cultural anthropology. With small class sizes and dedicated faculty mentorship, students develop strong skills in critical thinking, research, and communication that prepare them for a wide range of careers and graduate study.
Located in historic St. Augustine, the program offers a unique living laboratory. As the oldest continuously occupied European-established city in the United States, the area provides unparalleled opportunities for hands-on learning, from archaeological exploration to cultural analysis. Students also gain real-world experience through internships, research projects, and fieldwork.
