Ottoman Greeks of the United States (OGUS) Travel Fund
The Ottoman Greeks of the United States (OGUS) Digital History Project is an interdisciplinary initiative within Flagler College’s Behavioral Sciences program dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories of Ottoman Greek migrants.
Through this project, students engage in meaningful, hands-on research by conducting interviews, documenting personal histories, and curating artifacts brought to the United States. These experiences allow students to connect directly with communities and contribute to preserving an important and often overlooked part of history.
The OGUS Travel Fund supports student travel to collect these stories and materials, ensuring that this work continues to grow and reach communities across the country.
Our Roar & Raise Goal
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support student travel for the OGUS Digital History Project.
Our Fundraising Priority
Your support will help provide:
• Travel for students conducting interviews and field research
• Documentation and preservation of artifacts and migration stories
• Opportunities for students to engage in public history work
• Continued growth of the OGUS digital archive
These experiences are essential to bringing history to life and making it accessible to a wider audience.
Why Your Support Matters
Your generosity allows students to take part in impactful, real-world research.
With your support, students will:
• Gain hands-on experience in historical research and documentation
• Preserve important cultural histories for future generations
• Engage with communities and personal narratives
• Develop skills in research, storytelling, and digital archiving
Each contribution helps move this project closer to its long-term goal of sustaining and expanding its reach.
Building Toward the Future
Gifts to the OGUS Travel Fund contribute to an ongoing effort to reach a minimum funding goal of $25,000, ensuring the long-term sustainability of this important project.
Every gift brings us one step closer to preserving these stories and expanding opportunities for student involvement.
