CRaB Lab Sea Turtle Research Program
The Coastal Research and Biomonitoring (CRaB) Lab at Flagler College provides students with hands-on research opportunities focused on marine conservation, including vital sea turtle research.
Through this program, students gain real-world experience collecting data, conducting fieldwork, and contributing to meaningful research on endangered species. These opportunities extend beyond campus, allowing students to present their findings at national and international conferences.
In 2025, Flagler students traveled to Ghana, Africa to present their research at the International Sea Turtle Society Symposium. This year, eight students will travel to Hawaii to continue sharing their work on a global stage.
Our Roar & Raise Goal
Our goal is to raise $2,000 to support student travel and research opportunities.
Our Fundraising Priority
Your support will help provide:
• Travel expenses for students presenting research at conferences
• Registration and participation in national and international symposiums
• Research equipment such as cameras and GoPros
• Continued support for hands-on marine research experiences
Why Your Support Matters
Experiential learning is at the heart of a Flagler education.
With your support, students will:
• Present their research to global audiences
• Build professional networks in the scientific community
• Gain confidence and real-world experience
• Develop skills that prepare them for careers in science and conservation
These are opportunities students would not typically receive at many institutions.
Expanding Student Opportunities
As the program grows, so does the opportunity to impact more students. Your support allows more students to participate in these transformative experiences, ensuring that financial barriers do not limit access to professional development and research exposure.
Thank You!
To those who support this project, please know you are helping further the education of many deserving students. Hands-on, experiential learning is central to a Flagler education, and your generosity makes these opportunities possible for our science students.
We are truly grateful for your support.
