About

The Flagler College Writers-in-Residence series run by the English Department brings two writers to campus each year, one in the fall semester, and one in the spring. Visiting writers have included fiction writers Robert Olen Butler, John Dufresne, Cary Holladay, Alissa Nutting, and Kristen Arnett; and poets Gerald Stern, Virgil Suarez, Carolina Hospital, Holly Iglesias, Mary Biddinger, Caki Wilkinson, Jim Daniels, and Florida’s Poet Laureate, Peter Meinke. The program was established to enhance the experience of creative writing majors and minors. The writers attend classes, meet with students in casual settings such as coffee or lunch, and conclude their visit with a public reading. These are valuable experiences for our students who are aspiring writers. Your gift will help pay for the writer's hotel and travel expenses, and reading honorarium.

Make your gift today and don't forget to help us spread the word by sharing this page. Thank you!
