Middle College

Middle College at Fairmont State University is a program dedicated to the education and support of youth with experience in foster care. Middle College provides the opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma and associate’s degree simultaneously. While our students live in many settings throughout our community—in foster homes, transitional living homes, and with relatives—they each come to Fairmont State to further their education, build community, and find support. Middle College staff not only work with students on their educational efforts, but also to bolster their social capital and participate in traditional teenage experiences.

Funds raised on Day of Giving will be used to help the needs of Middle College students. This includes basics like weather-appropriate clothing, educational technology, and transportation support. It also includes enrichment opportunities like participating in advocacy days at the state capitol, purchasing equipment to participate in intermural sports, and helping a student get their driver's license. Your generosity on Day of Giving will ensure these deserving students have the resources and experiences they need to thrive—both in school and in life.
