Gifts to VEX Robotics Club contribute to...
The VEX Robotics Club at Fairmont State University enables multidisciplinary, project-based, and collaborative learning for students through the thrilling world of competition robotics. The team participates in the VEX U Robotics Competition, where teams design, build, program, drive, and document the creation process of two mobile robots, which play in an annual game against other collegiate teams from across the United States and beyond. Through the robot building process, students are engaged in a wide variety of academic fields, including mechanical design, electrical engineering, computer programming, 3D printing, as well as documenting their engineering design process. This cross-disciplinary and collaborative process is unique among student programs and enables students from various majors to collaborate towards a shared technical goal.
Donations will support the team’s materials costs and travel expenses to compete at regional events across the Mid-Atlantic, as well as to the VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri.
