Model United Nations

Fairmont State’s Model United Nations (MUN) team learns the theoretical knowledge of international relations and uses that knowledge in a practical, hands-on setting when we travel to New York City for the National Model United Nations conference. At the conference, held annually, over 100 different schools from across the world come together to confront international issues through the perspective of an assigned country. Through preparation and experiences at the conference, members of our MUN team learn important skills such as diplomacy, public speaking, researching, and technical writing.

Our team would greatly benefit from donations so we can extend the opportunity to more students to experience the national conference, as donations would help alleviate costs spent on travel and housing. Team members are also responsible for purchasing all meals while at the conference, which some students cannot afford. Donations would lessen the stress on students who attend the conference.
