Alpha Phi Sigma

Alpha Phi Sigma is the Criminal Justice Honor Society here at Fairmont State. The mission of Alpha Phi Sigma is to promote scholarship, learning, and analytical thinking in the Criminal Justice world. We build skills based off scientific research and ethical standards of those in the criminal justice professions. Here at Fairmont State our Alpha Phi Sigma team strives to connect our criminal justice program with the Fairmont community and students curious about the criminal justice world. Alpha Phi Sigma is an important organization here at Fairmont State because it allows students to join a respective organization that grants membership has a reward for intellectual achievements. Our team is taught how to be the new generation of scholarly thinkers that have already shown great promise for the future of the criminal justice world.

Alpha Phi Sigma benefits students in many ways, but the biggest benefit for students is the immense number of scholarships available for students. There are scholarships for being a member in the organization, but there are even more scholarships at the conferences. The conferences are another benefit for students because twice a year our teams get to go to different cities around the country and spread our ideas/knowledge with other criminal justice students. This allows our students to meet and learn from professionals in the criminal justice field that builds everyone's perspectives of the profession. By growing our minds we allow our team to grow on a professional level and in front of leaders from all over the country.
