Dance Team

The Fairmont State Dance Team is a student-run program built entirely on heart, dedication, and the belief that our passion deserves a place to shine. Without official funding, everything we do comes from fundraising and out-of-pocket contributions. Every uniform we wear, every trip we take, and every competition we enter is something we’ve worked for ourselves. That makes every performance whether on the football field, at basketball halftimes, at campus events, or on the competition stage feel like a true accomplishment. We aren’t just a team; we are something we created together from the ground up.

But the deepest part of this initiative is the impact it has on the students who call this team home. The Fairmont State Dance Team gives dancers a space to belong, to grow, and to feel supported in ways that reach far beyond dance. It builds sisterhood real bonds formed through long practices, shared goals, laughter, tears, and countless moments of lifting each other up. It teaches resilience, leadership, trust, and the beauty of being part of something bigger than yourself. For many of us, this team has become our family, our safe space, and the place where we’ve grown into stronger, more confident versions of ourselves. It’s more than an initiative - it’s a community, a legacy, and a source of purpose and connection that stays with us long after the music stops.
