The Biology Department is committed to giving students hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for scientific careers and graduate training. To do that well, we need modern, reliable laboratory equipment that can withstand the heavy daily use of teaching labs. Much of our current equipment has seen years of wear and tear, and repairing or replacing it has become increasingly costly. Ensuring that our students have access to tools that work as they should - every time - directly impacts the quality of their education.

For this year’s Day of Giving, our primary goal is to fund the purchase of a new set of light microscopes that will serve students across multiple laboratory courses. Microscopes are essential to understanding cell structure, physiology, genetics, and countless other topics central to the life sciences. By supporting this initiative, donors help us create a more engaging, effective learning environment and ensure that every student gains the practical skills and confidence needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
