Emory Oaks is a support program for autistic college students seeking their degree at Emory University. We provide Support Navigation for students (undergraduate and graduate), which is individualized coaching, mentoring, advising, and connection to services and resources. Our neuro-affirming approach and community helps autistics experience success and a greater sense of belonging.
In order to keep Emory Oaks financially accessible for interested students, we offer Scholarships to offset the cost of our Program Fee.
Autistic students can often feel unseen, unheard, and unsupported; in addition, graduation and employment outcomes for autistic college students are unacceptably low. Our autistic students at Emory University are bright, interesting, exceptionally talented, and driven to attain meaningful careers. Emory Oaks supports students by partnering with them on identifying their goals, developing action plans, and monitoring progress. Since our program launched in 2022, nearly 100% of our participants have stayed enrolled at Emory and eventually graduated; of our over 50 students who have completed their degree requirements over 75% have had clear post-graduation plans and options, such as internships, graduate school, and jobs. Most importantly, our participating students report that they experience a greater sense of confident, success and belonging!
