BMES focuses on fostering community within the biomedical and biomechanical field. Hosting technical workshops in a variety of engineering and network based skills and allowing members first look at internships and research opportunities, we aim at giving members all the tools necessary to succeed in this field. Offering mentorship to underclassmen from day one, members are able to participate in senior design and get hands-on experience from day one, or helping provide them resources for any projects they want to take on themselves. BMES is focused on helping students excel in all fields of engineering.
BMES is coming back from a 3 year hiatus, and has gained a lot of interest from many students as the biomedical field is rapidly growing. To help with the growth of our club, any donations would be invaluable in helping support us and the clubs goals. Previous donations to BMES has allowed us to invest in high quality tools and software that allow us to develop prototypes quickly aiding in the acceleration of our projects. Past funding has also allowed us to maintain membership as we are able to host a variety of events that connect members such as company tours.
For Ascend Day of Giving, this year we are to raise $500 to help our members attend the BMES conference in October presenting work completed over the past year, this money would go towards resources on our research as well as registration and travel fees.
