Gifts to Daytona Beach ASHRAE (American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers) contribute to...

The Embry-Riddle ASHRAE student branch is a professional engineering society that allows students to learn, work and gain exposure in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field. Through hands-on research projects and networking opportunities, students at Embry-Riddle have an opportunity to gain additional perspectives for their future careers. Student members of the ASHRAE branch have successfully competed in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Jump into STEM competition on two occasions, and seven members have had the opportunity to have internships at national laboratories, positively affecting their career outlook.
ASHRAE asks for your support to help fund the following:
1. The purchase of a Coriolis flow meter, which is a piece of instrumentation that measures mass flow rate for a vapor compression refrigerant flow loop that is currently in development for testing and learning of the thermodynamic process ($4,000-$6,000).
2. ASHRAE's goal is to attend the winter conference every year. Funding for additional students to attend would be beneficial as this is a great way to learn about novel research in the area and network for potential jobs and internship opportunities.
