The EMU School of Engineering’s 3D Printing Lab currently prints prototypes, end-use parts, and tooling for all majors, faculty, and clubs, such as SAE Baja, in the School of Engineering using a variety of 3Dprinters from Stratasys, Ultimaker, and Formlabs.
The use of 3D printing in the School has grown steadily over the past several years and we are currently spending approximately $20,000 for printing material annually. Students in the School of Engineering pay course fees which partially offset printing material cost.
The goal of the campaign is to raise $10,000 toward the cost of printing material to mitigate passing more cost to the students.
The average material cost per part is $30. Suggested donations are $30, $60, $100, $150, $200, and other.
