About

The ETSU Marching Bucs will be on the road soon to the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City! However, we need your help to get there.

Only 12 high school and collegiate/university bands are invited each year and ETSU was one of four College/University bands in the nation to be invited. The Marching Bucs are the first Collegiate/University band to be selected from Tennessee in the more than 60 years!

The Marching Bucs are beyond excited for this amazing opportunity, but we need your help in making it possible. The expense for transporting nearly 400 students and their equipment and uniforms, for hotel accommodations, food, and more, requires a big financial commitment.  Our students and their families will be contributing and doing their part, but your assistance will be invaluable in helping us represent ETSU, Johnson City, our region, and our State to an audience of more than 30 million viewers world-wide.

Thanks to the support of many, including; alumni, parents, students, the University and corporate sponsors, at this time we have approximately $75,000 remaining to reach our original goal of $375,000.  There’s still time to participate at any level and your gift means the world to our dedicated students. If you would like to help, simply click on the Give Now button at the top of this page. Donations are tax-deductible and make a difference for every student marching

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade in New York City presented by the U.S.-based department store chain Macy's. The Parade first took place in 1924, tying it for the second-oldest Thanksgiving parade in the United States. The three-hour parade is held in Manhattan, ending outside Macy's Herald Square.  It takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Thanksgiving Day, and has been televised nationally on NBC since 1953. The Parade's workforce is made up of Macy's employees and their friends and family, all of whom work as volunteers.

We want to thank you in advance for being part of our success story and our ETSU and Marching Bucs family, as we prepare for our journey to March at Macy’s!  #BucsonParade
