The legacy of Dr. Randy Wykoff began in spring of 2005 when he was named Founding Dean of the College of Public Health at East Tennessee State University, a pivotal moment in the history of ETSU’s public health program. All public health programs in the (then) College of Public and Allied Health were being reorganized into a free-standing College of Public Health. Dr. Wykoff was charged with leading this ambitious endeavor with the goal of becoming the first school in Tennessee and central Appalachia to become accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). And the rest is history... rich, robust and transformative history that continues to evolve every semester. Dean Wykoff has announced his plans to retire in May 2026.
