Ministry & Student Emergency Fund

With the spirit of the Dominican Founders in mind, Ministry & Student Emergency Fund will help to provide financial support to students facing unforeseen emergencies and ease the cost of needs-based experiences.

Student Emergencies

Emergencies can happen to anyone at any time – fire, flood, evacuation, travel expenses due to a family member's death, hospitalization copay and more. These situations disrupt anyone's daily responsibilities, but for students, these urgent situations can jeopardize their ability to complete their education. We have seen multiple students postpone their studies and, in some cases, withdraw due to a small unexpected expense.

Service-Based Experience

There are students who have a passion for service. The University provides opportunities for students to serve in El Salvador and through the Alternative Spring Break program. Students fundraise, but often come up short, as those with the most need come from under-resourced communities. Some students don’t go because of a small expense. You can help to take away the barrier of economic fragility, allowing those who want to give their time and talent in the service of others to engage in these transformative experiences.

Sister Jenn Schaaf of Mission & Ministry and Margaret Treacy of Institutional Advancement formed this fund to help students through hardships. All donations will support a student in need.
