Jill Briggs Memorial Scholarship

Everyone who ever met Jill Briggs knows the kind of person she was. She was bright, positive, uplifting, and always kind. She was the best of us! You were better off for having met her and spending any time with her. She was also a true Ute. She loved her time at the University of Utah, so much so, that she took every opportunity after graduating with her Master of Accountancy to stay involved there. Whether it was recruiting activities for PWC, mentoring, team teaching a class, the Young Alumni Board, the David Eccles Alumni Network Board, various school events, donating for building projects and scholarships or attending sporting events, Jill continued to return to the university she loved and worked hard to give back.

The perfect way to honor her and her legacy is to create a scholarship to David Eccles School of Business in her memory. This scholarship will be awarded to a student studying accounting at the Eccles School. To the extent allowable by law and University policy, preference may be given to students who demonstrate commitment to supporting or advancing women in higher education, business, or the community. Examples of this demonstrated experience or commitment may include students' volunteer activity and involvement in student, business, professional, or community organizations.

The Jill Briggs Memorial Scholarship will be administered by the David Eccles School of Business and will benefit accounting students at the University of Utah. In the event that the minimum threshold of $25,000 needed to establish an endowment isn't met within two years, funds will be awarded as an annual scholarship in Jill’s honor.
