The Ledbetter Utility Vehicle

Last year the Ledbetter was absent from the lake, a result of a combination of factors, from environmental factors to aging equipment that wasn’t suited to the ever-changing contours of the lake bottom. A plan to put the Ledbetter back on the water has been formulated; a plan that is moving full speed ahead. And that’s where you come in.

Culver has engaged a specialty manufacturer of amphibious vehicles to craft a unique utility vehicle, made with the Ledbetter and Lake Maxinkuckee in mind, that will carefully and safely cradle the ship and gently float it in the lake each year. This Ledbetter Utility Vehicle will not only ensure the ship gets in and out of the lake with ease, but also has as little impact on the aquatic environment as possible.

But this does not come without a cost. We are asking for your support as this endeavor gets underway to ensure the Ledbetter remains the singular symbol of a Culver summer that it has been for nearly 40 years.
