Gifts to Women's Basketball contribute to...
The Crown Women's Basketball program is built on this set of core values: Relationships, Hard Work, Humility, Thankfulness, and Freedom. Over the last two seasons, these core values have become the identity of our program on and off the court. Relationships: there is nothing more important in our program than the people that make it up. Crown Women's Basketball will not be just a four year commitment, it is a lifelong bond with teammates and coaches. Hard Work: Colossians 3:23 says to "work heartily" because we are serving the Lord. Hard work drives our program and we strive to get our very best effort in everything we do because we are serving Christ. Humility: this is a group of people that understand that nobody is more important than the team. Our players and coaches embrace their role so that they can best serve the group. Thankfulness: we want the way we play basketball and conduct ourselves off the court to be honoring and glorifying to Christ. He has blessed us with this awesome opportunity to play and coach college basketball and we want to give thanks to Him and honor Him with everything we do. Freedom: focusing on giving our best and giving the praise to the Lord gives us the ability to break away from the pressures of competing and compete with freedom on the court.
In our program, we know that there are more important things than just winning basketball games. We will always emphasize growing in our faith and having strong relationships with each other over anything else on our team. However, we are also giving everything we have everyday to make history within our Crown Women's Basketball program. We are attempting to do things that have never been done before in our program's history. That history has already started taking place. This past spring, our team was the #10 seed in the NCCAA National Tournament and won four games in four days to win the first NCCAA Division II National Championship in program history. Our team defeated the #1, #2, and #3 seeds on the way to the National Championship. We are also trying to give our student-athletes experiences they have not had in the past. This past season, we took our team to Los Angeles to play two games in December. Every fall, we go on a team retreat in northern Minnesota so that we can continue to build relationships within our team. We humbly ask for your financial support as we look to continue pouring into these student-athletes, giving them great and new experiences, and continuing to make history on the court. Thank you!
