The 2027 season will be here before we know it, and you can help our Junior Jays remain competitive across every event!

Your gift will provide support for additional athletic training, transportation, ancillary equipment, meals and other items that benefit the track and field team.

Teams: Varsity, JV and freshman

• On average, Prep has over 120 student-athletes participate in track and field each year.
• This past season, the Jr. Jays were state runner-up, metro runner-up and district champs.
• Senior Ethan Laux repeated as the 110 & 300 hurdles champion in Class A. Ethan is the school record holder in the 300 hurdles with a time of 37.28.
• Junior Jake Brock set the school record in the shot put at the Millard North Relays with a throw of 60’1”.
• Junior John Becker was the all-class gold medal champion at the state meet with a jump of 48’1”.
• Faith Kjelstrup, varsity jumps coach, was honored by the Nebraska Women’s Athletic Leadership Alliance with assistant coach of the year award for the 2025-26 school year. Faith has volunteered her time at Prep for the past 10 years coaching our long & triple jumpers.
• In seven of the past 11 years, the track and field team has placed fifth or better at the state meet.
• The track and field team has been either the Metro Conference champion or the runner-up in nine of the past 11 years.
• Track and field student-athletes from Prep have gone on to participate in track and field at Creighton University, Iowa State University, Northwest Missouri State University, the United States Military Academy, the Naval Academy, the University of Dayton, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Notre Dame.
