Go Dutch on Giving Day 2021

Thanks to our more than 260 donors who have made #GoDutch2021 such a success.

Below, Ray Voelkel, Director of Physical Education and Athletics reiterates what it has meant to him to be able to see the students and to teach in person this year.

We have almost reached our goal!

What is #GoDutch2021?
#GoDutch2021 is Collegiate School’s giving day: Wednesday, April 21, 2021.  On this day, we encourage the entire community to support Collegiate’s Annual Fund. With the added costs of opening the School safely, whether in-person or online, during this pandemic, financial contributions to the Annual Fund from the entire Collegiate community are needed now more than ever. That’s why we need you to “Go Dutch” and share this cost by making a gift to the Annual Fund. 

When is #GoDutch2021?
#GoDutch2021 is Wednesday, April 21, 2021!

What is the Annual Fund at Collegiate and what does it support?
The Annual Fund, supported by members throughout the Collegiate community, provides vital resources to help support the School in its mission to provide the very best education to deserving students. The Annual Fund is essential, as it covers roughly 10% of the School’s operating budget including: faculty/staff salaries, financial aid, athletics, and the arts. In addition, this year, with the added costs of opening the School support from the Collegiate community is needed now more than ever.

What is the goal of #GoDutch2021?
Our goal is to inspire 250 donors – current parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty/staff/administration, and friends —to make a gift to Collegiate’s Annual Fund; every student benefits from every dollar contributed to the School’s Annual Fund.

Where can I find #GoDutch2021 updates?
On our Give Campus campaign! Each time someone generously supports the School on April 21,  the donor and dollar numbers will automatically update to include their gift. You can see who else has participated by clicking on "donors" tab. Encourage your classmates and friends so they don’t miss out.

How do I get my classmates involved?
Share on social media! Give Campus has an automated link you can share with your friends and classmates via email, texting, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.  Showcase your support and tag others who could be involved.  

Can I make a challenge or matching gift?
YES! On the top left-hand corner of the Give Campus page, there are two buttons, 1 for challenges and 1 for matching. Want to understand more how your challenge or matching gift can help? Reach out to Collegiate’s Development Office: development@collegiateschool.org or 212-812-8776.

Can anyone participate in #GoDutch2021?
YES! To be successful, we need all of our community to be involved. We solicit all members of the Collegiate community: current parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty/staff/administration, and friends.

 Is my payment secure?
Yes, all payments are processed through a secure online system available only to the Collegiate School Development Office. 

Is there a minimum gift?
No, all gift sizes are appreciated! The School values every gift regardless of the size. No gift to the Annual Fund is too great or too small; all gifts make a difference, help us reach our financial goals, and ensure Collegiate’s future, particularly during these extraordinary times.

Do pledges count on giving day?
All cash gifts are counted on giving day, making this a great day to pay off those pledges regardless of when you made it.  To pay off your pledge and have it count toward our campaign, please make it online at our Give Campus website.

Can I make a recurring gift?
#GoDutch2021 is focused on one-time gifts. Please contact us if you want to set up your gift as recurring going forward: development@collegiateschool.org or 212-812-8776.   

What if I already made my annual gift this year?
Thank you for your generous support of Collegiate! We appreciate your commitment and hope you will consider another gift during #GoDutch2021 which will help towards our financial goal and our  Giving Day participation goal. Giving today can also help encourage others to make their gift! 

Why is participation important?
Annual giving demonstrates our shared sense of responsibility in sustaining Collegiate’s mission. Participation from across the Collegiate community is fundamental to the success of the Annual Fund; it is a measure of our strength and an endorsement from our community. 

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Once your gift has been received, a receipt in the form of an email will immediately follow. Collegiate is a 501(c)(3) organization under the Federal IRS code. All contributions to the Annual Fund are tax deductible. All donors receive an acknowledgement letter stating their gift amount, date of gift, and a statement that no goods or services were provided in exchange for the donation.
