The School of Health is raising funds for high fidelity simulation lab equipment!
Realism in nursing simulation is essential as it enables students to engage in scenarios that closely resemble real-world clinical situations. This helps them develop critical thinking, decision-making, and appropriate patient care skills in a controlled environment, better preparing them for high-pressure healthcare settings. The more realistic the simulation, the more effectively knowledge and skills transfer to actual clinical practice. An advanced high-fidelity manikin offers more realistic and complex features, allowing for a deeper and more immersive simulation experience. Advanced manikins can mimic a broader range of physiological responses than a standard manikin, including changes in vital signs, breathing patterns, and realistic symptoms of various medical conditions. This enables students to practice complex decision-making, teamwork, and critical thinking in ways that a traditional manikin, with fewer capabilities, cannot. Artificial intelligence capabilities allow students to practice therapeutic communication. As a result, students receive a more comprehensive and realistic training experience that better prepares them for real-world clinical environments.
