Black Student Union (Student Club)

Mission Statement

1. The Black Student Union shall serve as a CSB + SJU student club that promotes diversity through race and intellectuality at Saint. Ben’s and Saint. John’s.
2. We shall promote accurate awareness of the cultural, political, and economic aspects of the Black/African diaspora.
3. We shall serve as a club that uplifts the Black community at Saint. Ben’s and Saint. John’s through informative programming, constructive leadership, and peaceful activism.
4. We shall serve as a club that is cognizant of intersectionality and its purpose when creating programming and events that stem around activism, justice, and education.
5. We, the Black Student Union, agree that our activities, goals, and statements shall be consistent with the Benedictine Values and Catholic Social Teaching.
6. We, the Black Student Union, are not affiliated with any regional/national organizations, but we shall support organizations that promote diversity, inclusivity, activism, and justice.
