Kappa Sigma was founded in 1869 at the University of Virginia. The Kappa Chi Chapter was founded in 1969 at the College of Charleston and remained active until 2018. At the national level, the fraternity regularly supports and volunteers with A Greater Cause and the Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign.
