Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated was founded at Cornell University in 1906 and the Tau Eta Chapter was chartered on the campus of the College of Charleston in the fall of 1999. The fraternity is proud to be the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans. The members of Tau Eta regularly support the March of Dimes, the Lowcountry Foodbank, and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and the Charleston County Public Library.
