About

On Colgate Day, we issued a challenge that if 3,113 members of this community made a gift, a group of generous challengers would give $1.5 million in support of the Colgate Fund - specifically the Colgate Commitment, the University's initiative in access and affordability.

Thank you to the 3,691 members of this community who met the Colgate Day Challenge, making gifts totaling $1,968,628 in support of the Colgate Fund. When added to the $1.5 million unlocked by our challengers, a total of almost $3.5 million was raised. This is truly remarkable and is an important step forward in our continued fundraising efforts for the Colgate Commitment. While it is true that we have significantly more to raise in order to reach our ambitious financial aid goal - to see 50% of students eligible to receive aid - we took an important step forward on Colgate Day. Thank you.

A special thank you to the challengers who have made this match possible:

Colgate C divider

President Brian W. Casey and Dan DeVries

President Casey was interviewed live by Colgate’s Vice President for University Communications, Dan DeVries. The two discussed the progress the University had made in the last five years since launching Colgate’s Third-Century Plan. President Casey shared his vision for Colgate’s top three priorities at the time: the Colgate Commitment (financial aid), the academic experience, and the student residential experience.
