About

With funds from last year's Cougar Challenge, Coach McDonald upgraded necessary equipment that were in need of attention including boat parts and accessories.

This year, he plans to use contributions to purchase new rowing machines and electronics as well as use the funds towards team travel in 2025 for spring training or the Henley Regatta.

"Since the Cougar Challenge began, we've seen a big improvement in our athletic experience. This has boosted our competitiveness both in races and in our daily training. The Cougar Challenge has helped us get updated equipment like indoor rowers, electronics, boats, and oars. It’s also allowed us to compete in major events like the Women's Henley and the San Diego Crew Classic, where we even brought home a trophy! Without the support from alumni, family, and friends, none of this would have been possible." - Mike McDonald, Head Coach
