What is the Senior Class Gift?

The senior class gift is the opportunity to discover the power of our generosity. This community, our friendships, and what we have learned through our four years at CMC have prepared us for this moment. In CMC’s long-standing tradition of giving back, seniors who donate may direct their gift to any area of the college that is most important to them. No gift is too small – the act of giving what is meaningful to you is the first step – and all gifts are greatly appreciated.

Is my participation important?

YES! Strong participation in the senior class gift – and annually thereafter – recognizes us as engaged members of the community who valued our experiences here. This also signals to the world that the CMC experience is one-of-a-kind, and our alumni success is unparalleled. Did you know that most CMC alumni made their first gift as a senior? Alumni participation continues to be an important point of pride.

Where should I give?

Our first gift should be special to us and something that we'll always remember. Some of the most popular funds are:

The Alumni Fund: Last year, more than 35% of CMC alumni made a gift to the alumni fund because the college uses these resources across the entire spectrum of the student experience, including scholarships and financial aid, student opportunities, internship funding, athletics and faculty research support.

Department/Major, Athletics, Clubs and/or Program: Many students earmark their gift to their academic department, athletic team, the career center or student club, or even Dean of Students because someone in those areas made a difference in their lives.

The most important part about making our senior gift is that we support an area that is important to us and we are specific about the impact we want to have.

What are you most grateful for at CMC? Who made the biggest impact on your experience here? Do you want to ensure that students who follow you have the same experience?

What is the Crown Society?

CMC is one-of-a-kind because of the persistent, close knit community of alumni. We are loyal to each other and the institution, and we want to recognize those who are also loyal givers to the college.

By making your senior gift today, you will automatically be inducted into the Crown Society, which is an exclusive group comprised of CMC’s most loyal donors. Consistent giving every year allows CMC to focus on long-term goals and critical needs. Usually, you need five years of consecutive giving to become a Crown Society member, but seniors can join by making their senior gift and maintain their membership by giving back every year after. Start your tradition of giving today and take your first step towards becoming the newest member of the Crown Society!

What are the Res Publica Associates?

Res Publica Society members are leadership donors who have the greatest impact on supporting CMC. As part of Senior Class Gift, you can join the Society as a Res Publica Associate (RPA) with a gift of $150 or more. Your RPA membership, supporting the Alumni Fund, provides all of the benefits of the Res Publica Society, as well as a CMC wine glass as a token of the College’s appreciation for joining the RPA as a current senior.
