At Clackamas Community College, we understand that students face challenges beyond academics, which is why we are committed to supporting their basic needs through a variety of programs. We know that financial stress can significantly impact a student's ability to succeed and persist in their studies. That's why we provide support with essential living costs, including rent and utility bills, transportation expenses, food security, and childcare. Our goal is to ensure that all students have access to the resources they need to thrive, both in and out of the classroom. By removing these barriers, we help students focus on their education, empowering them to reach their full potential and achieve their academic and career goals.
In 2024, Clackamas Community College Foundation provided essential assistance to 169 students, offering a total of $60,000 to support housing and rent bills, $27,000 for utility expenses, and $4,000 for financial emergencies. Additionally, we have allocated $2,000 to cover unexpected course fees and $1,000 to assist with childcare expenses.
