At Clackamas Community College, and at community colleges in general, we know many students don’t see themselves as scholarship worthy. Traditional scholarships often narrowly focus on past academic achievement, overlooking the determination and potential of students who are balancing personal obligations and interests, work, family, and school. The Student Opportunity Scholarship endowment is designed to challenge ideas about what scholarship worthiness looks like. By providing funding, this endowment allows CCC Foundation to recognize and invest in students based on their promise, effort, and plans. Student Opportunity scholarships support students of all kinds as they pursue their goals, no matter where they’re starting from.
