Clackamas Community College's Health Sciences programs prepare students for essential careers serving patients, families, healthcare organizations and communities throughout our region.

Across our seven programs, Nursing, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Phlebotomy, and Medical Billing and Coding, students need opportunities to learn through realistic, hands on experiences that reflect today’s healthcare environment. Healthcare does not stand still. Technology changes, equipment changes, standards of practice evolve, and curriculum responds to new workforce expectations..

A donation to Health Sciences is more than an investment in a piece of equipment. It creates opportunities for students to practice, build confidence and develop the skills they will rely on throughout their healthcare careers. It gives a nursing student the chance to recognize a change in a simulated patient’s condition, allows an EMT student to practice responding to an emergency before encountering one in the field and provides Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Nursing Assistant, and Phlebotomy students with repeated, hands-on opportunities to strengthen their skills. It also supports students as they learn the systems, technology, communication and documentation skills that are essential in today’s healthcare environment. Most importantly, these experiences help students move beyond simply learning about healthcare to becoming prepared to provide it.

Investments in skills and simulation help students build competence and confidence, while equipment and technology keep their education connected to today’s healthcare environment. Support for supplies and emerging needs makes repeated practice, hands on learning, and innovation possible. Together, these investments support students across the continuum of healthcare education at Clackamas Community College, helping students become graduates, graduates become healthcare professionals and healthcare professionals strengthen our communities.
