Donna Crone Athletic Excellence Scholarship

After 27 years of unwavering dedication to Christian Brothers University, Donna Crone has officially retired. Her unparalleled commitment to our student-athletes has left an indelible mark on our community. To honor Donna's legacy and her passion for ensuring that every athlete leaves a lasting impact, we are proud to establish the Donna Crone Athletic Excellence Scholarship. This endowed scholarship will support the recruitment and retention of female athletes, ensuring Donna's spirit of excellence lives on. Once the $25,000 threshold is reached, the scholarship will remain in perpetuity.

Donna has always been a team player. She has served in countless roles across campus ranging from the Lady Buccaneer's softball coach to Athletic Director. No matter her title, Donna's top priority was always creating the best environment for students to succeed both in their academics and respective sports. Her dedication to making athletes the best they can be has impacted generations of Bucs.

Donna first came to Christian Brothers College after graduating from Memphis Catholic High School. She walked on to the women's basketball team and played for two seasons. She also played two seasons of tennis, earning the team MVP award in her senior season. She graduated from CBC with a BS in Business in 1983. In addition to being involved in academics and athletics, Donna also met some of her closest friends here, even marrying fellow Buc Chris Crone ('76). Their two children, Kristen ('11) and Justin ('16), also proudly followed in her footsteps at CBU.

This scholarship continues Donna's hard work for years to come. Athletics often uses the phrase "Once a Buc, Always a Buc" to describe the atmosphere at Christian Brothers University. Donna Crone truly embodies "Once a Buc, Always a Buc."
