Tiffany Yvonne Cox ’07
Tiffany discovered Catawba College through a college guidebook, drawn first by its strong Theatre program. A campus visit quickly turned the school from her fifth choice to her top choice, as she recalls, “It felt like home.” As a military child who had moved fourteen times, Tiffany found it surprising—but exactly right—that her next chapter would unfold on a close-knit campus in a small Southern town. At Catawba, she immersed herself in musical theatre, leadership roles, service opportunities, and the wider campus community, ultimately being crowned Miss Catawba her senior year.
Since graduating, Tiffany has built a successful career as an actor, writer, director, and producer, with credits that include Grey’s Anatomy, Good Trouble, Bob Hearts Abishola, and Hallmark’s Napa Ever After. She attributes much of her success to the lessons instilled by Catawba’s Theatre faculty: to treat people with kindness, and to trust that “what you bring to the table is enough.” In establishing her annual scholarship, Tiffany hopes to extend those same opportunities and affirmations to future students, encouraging them to embrace their gifts, pursue their passions, and carry forward the spirit of community that shaped her own journey.
🎭✨ Catawba College is proud to announce the creation of the Tiffany Yvonne Cox ’07 Annual Scholarship.
Each year, this $5,000 award will support a Theatre Arts major who is also an active member of the Black Student Union. Recipients will be selected based on financial need and their dedication to their particular focus within theatre arts.
