Athletics

Your continued support is vital to the sustained success of Catawba College Athletics, our 24 intercollegiate teams and 600+ student-athletes. Some of the achievements our sports teams have accomplished this past year, with your help, include:

- Placed 32nd among all Division II member institutions in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup final standings, the department's highest finish in the final standings in school history
- Finished 3rd in the SAC Echols Athletic Excellence Award standings, the highest mark in 17 years
- 7 teams and 7 individuals competed in NCAA Championships
- Baseball won the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship and made their 4th College World Series appearance
- 2 SAC Tournament Championships (Men’s Basketball and Women’s Tennis)
- 3 SAC Regular Season Championships (Baseball, Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball)
- 12 individual SAC titles
- 4 All-Americans, 3 individual Academic All-Americans and 4 Team Scholar All-America honors
- 7 SAC Players of the Year, 4 SAC Coaches of the Year, 3 SAC Freshmen of the Year and 72 All-Conference selections
- 4 SAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year and 2 SAC Elite 23 award winners (top GPA) - 11 teams in the national rankings, including a #1 ranking for Women’s Soccer and a final #3 ranking for Baseball
