Gifts to FBLA-C Conference contribute to...
The Future Business Leaders of America - Collegiate Division held the NC State Conference over the weekend of April 21st through 22nd. FBLA-C was formerly Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) and the organization was rebranded last year to strengthen ties with Future Business Leaders of America High School and Professional Divisions. Colleges and universities from across our state sent teams of students to participate in leadership sessions and compete in business related testing and presentations.
The Catawba College FBLA-C Chapter fielded a team of six students and two advisors, Mrs. Angelia Bates and Dr. Pamela Thompson. Students compete for an invitation to compete at the FBLA-C National Convention held this year in Atlanta, GA on June 22nd through June 25th. Depending on the competition, the top two or three finishers qualify for Nationals where all States will be represented.
The following Ketner School of Business students were successful in their competitions and earned a place at Nationals:
Rachel Webster: Management Concepts 1st Place, Public Speaking 2nd Place
Sam Granillo: Marketing Concepts 3rd Place, Social Media Marketing 3rd Place (alternate for Nationals)
Emma Nantz: Retail Management 3rd Place, Organization Behavior and Leadership 3rd Place
