Please consider a gift to the All University Orchestra this Giving CMU Day!
We are CMU’s All University Orchestra, one of CMU’s largest organizations with over 120 active members participating in two orchestras, a flute choir and various smaller arrangements. Our purpose is to provide the opportunity for non-music majors and community members to perform in a professional setting and to grow their musical skills.
AUO’s funding goes towards renting Carnegie Music Hall — a prestigious performance venue — along with allowing our musicians to hone their skills under the guidance of our professional conductor, Dr. Jeffrey Klefstad, who has been with us for over 12 years. Additionally, we offer professional coaching sessions for each instrument section, providing specialized feedback for specific issues that our members encounter.
Donating to this fund will also secure our ability to hire professional musicians to fill in missing spots in our ensembles as well as provide concert recording services, sheet music, and instrument repairs. Smaller donations will be used to host social events that promote bonding and trust between our members, resulting in more effective collaboration during rehearsals.
Your contributions will go a long way in helping AUO continue to provide these opportunities as well as continue our legacy as the only recreational symphonic orchestra on campus.
Membership in this student organization and participation in its programs/activities are available to all students at the University, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or any other protected class.
