Please consider a gift to the Climate Action Campaign (CAC) this Giving CMU Day!
CAC is requesting funding to support our Spring 2026 (possibly Fall 2026) “Climate in Action” series, a set of events aimed at turning awareness into tangible advocacy and impact. The centerpiece of this project will be a “Policy and Action Summit,” where students can engage with local policymakers, community organizers, and environmental experts to learn how to effectively influence climate policy and advance environmental justice in Pittsburgh. The event will include interactive workshops, student-led discussions and action stations where attendees can write letters to representatives, sign petitions and join ongoing campaigns.
Funding will be used for venue and materials costs, tabling supplies and outreach materials to make the summit widely accessible and engaging. It will also help cover transportation to representatives’ offices for direct advocacy efforts and support other CAC activities throughout the semester, such as educational events, tabling outreach and collaborative initiatives with campus and community partners.
By supporting this project, you are empowering students to take informed, collective climate action beyond the classroom — building momentum for a more sustainable and equitable future.
Membership in this student organization and participation in its programs/activities are available to all students at the University, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or any other protected class.
