Please consider a gift to AB Tech this Giving CMU Day!
The Activities Board Technical Committee, commonly known as AB Tech, is the organization charged with handling the technical production of university-sponsored events in Pittsburgh. We provide professional-grade entertainment production services — including sound reinforcement, lighting design and event management — at heavily subsidized rates to our campus community. From student groups and university faculty to various independent companies and student projects, we’re passionate about supporting the growth of our members as they contribute to Carnegie Mellon’s technical needs.
The AB Tech Gift Fund is the main funding source for social events that uphold our organization's community. It is primarily funded through donations and improves quality-of-life initiatives within AB Tech.
The Alumni Account is purely for the AB Tech Alumni Association, which has over 120 active members. This account pays for alumni networking events, such as the annual meetup during Carnival. Maintaining alumni relations is the main way we continue to understand equipment, historical event relations and institutional knowledge from year to year.
The Development Opportunity Fund (Endowed Gift Fund) covers 80% of the travel expenses for highly involved members to attend LDI or USITT. They are both annual industry conferences which enrich our equipment purchases, internal training curriculums and design decisions.
Membership in this student organization and participation in its programs/activities are available to all students at the University, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or any other protected class.
