About

Our graduate students are doing work that changes the world, so ensuring sufficient funding to attract and retain the best and brightest is a top priority for the School of Computer Science.

One way you can help us do that this Giving CMU Day is to invest in fellowship funds like the Randy Bryant Endowed Fellowship Fund. We established this fund in 2014 in honor of Randal E. Bryant and his 10-year service as Dean of SCS.

Randy is an award-winning computer science researcher in his own right, with major awards from several professional societies and membership in the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. CS education is deeply important to him; one of his most lasting legacies is 15-213, the introductory computer systems course that he developed that has since educated thousands of students and is a core part of the preparation students receive in a variety of undergraduate and master's programs.

Your contribution to the Randy Bryant Fund will directly support talented graduate students at SCS, many of whom may not otherwise be able to attend CMU. So if you found 15-213 transformative, and if you’d like to support generations of brilliant graduate students to come, choose the Randy Bryant Endowed Fellowship Fund for your Giving CMU Day gift.
