今年的 Giving CMU Day，我们希望通过凝聚全球华人家长的力量，聚焦支持三项与学生成长息息相关的重点基金，帮助他们在课堂内外积累经验、拓展视野，并更好地走向未来。

● 职业与职业发展中心基金：
每一位家长都希望孩子不仅在课堂上取得优异成绩，更能在毕业后走向成功。CMU的职业发展中心正是实现这一目标的关键。职业发展中心为学生提供个性化的职业指导、全球就业资源、校友网络机会，以及与世界顶尖雇主的直接联系。
对于许多学生来说，了解美国及国际的就业市场并在全球范围内寻找机会充满挑战。通过这一基金，学生能够获得必要的工具、指导和信心，去争取实习机会、找到第一份理想工作，并开启他们的职业之路。
支持职业发展中心，华人家长不仅可以为所有CMU学子创造更多机会，也会帮助到CMU学生在竞争激烈的国际职场中脱颖而出，实现他们的职业梦想。

● 本科生科研计划基金：
卡内基梅隆大学因其卓越的创新与科研能力而享誉世界，本科生在这里不仅是学习者，更是创造者。“本科生科研计划”基金为学生提供与CMU教授一同参与前沿项目的机会，涵盖人工智能、机器人、艺术、人文、公共政策等多个领域。
对于学生而言，这种实践性的科研经历不仅是学术机会，更是深入学习、强化简历、申请研究生及职业发展的重要桥梁。他们能够在科研中发现新的兴趣，发表论文，并在国际舞台上展示自己的才能。

● 温哥华家庭旅行基金：
旨在资助教授前往温哥华进行学术交流、研究合作或项目访问，进一步加强CMU与当地学生家庭及学术联系。
通过这一基金，教授们能够深入了解温哥华的创新与产业环境，将新的想法与经验带回校园，丰富教学与研究。

Dear CMU Global Chinese Supporters,

On the journey of our children’s growth, parents are not only their strongest support but also essential partners of the university. The Chinese parents community brings together families from around the world who are united by shared hopes and responsibilities: to ensure that every Tartan thrives in academics, careers and life.

This community of Chinese and Chinese Diaspora parents provides a platform for communication and fellowship, while also serving as a key force in supporting students and advancing the university’s future. By sharing experiences, building connections and pooling resources, we work together to create a nurturing and empowering environment for our children.
This year on Giving CMU Day, we hope to unite the strength of global Chinese parents to support three priority funds closely tied to student growth. These funds will help students gain valuable experiences, broaden their perspective and better prepare for the future beyond the classroom.

Career and Professional Development Center Fund:
Every parent hopes their child not only excels in the classroom but also finds success after graduation. CMU’s Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) plays a vital role in making this possible. The center provides students with personalized career advising, access to global employment resources, alumni networking opportunities and direct connections with leading employers worldwide.

For many students, understanding the U.S. and international job markets and seeking global opportunities can be challenging. Through this fund, students gain the tools, guidance, and confidence they need to pursue internships, secure their first job and launch meaningful careers.

By supporting the Career and Professional Development Center, Chinese and Chinese Diaspora parents can open doors for all CMU students, helping them stand out in an increasingly competitive global workforce and achieve their professional aspirations.

Undergraduate Research Program Fund:
Carnegie Mellon is renowned worldwide for excellence in innovation and research. Here, undergraduates are not only learners but also creators. The Undergraduate Research Initiative Fund gives students the opportunity to work alongside CMU faculty on cutting-edge projects across fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, arts, humanities and public policy.
For students, this hands-on research experience is more than an academic opportunity, it is a bridge to deeper learning, stronger resumes, graduate school preparation and career advancement. They may discover new passions, publish papers and present their talents on international stages.

By supporting this fund, parents directly invest in their children’s growth beyond the classroom, helping them gain practical experience, sharpen critical thinking and go further on the path of innovation.

Vancouver Family Travel Fund:
This fund supports faculty travel to Vancouver for academic exchange, research collaboration, or project visits, further strengthening CMU’s connections with local student families and the academic community.

Through this fund, faculty have the opportunity to explore Vancouver’s innovative and industrial landscape, bringing new ideas and experiences back to campus to enrich teaching and research.

We invite you to support the Vancouver Family Travel Fund and help extend CMU’s academic spirit and faculty development across the globe.
