Dr. Patrick HarkerECONOMIST • ENGINEER
Dr. Patrick Harker is the 11th president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, participating on the Federal Open Market Committee, which formulates the nation’s monetary policy. His work primarily focuses on the intersection of engineering and economics, including the impact of automation on the labor force, which he considers "the perfect intersection" of these fields. As an engineer by training, Dr. Harker has continued to apply his research and receive patents throughout his career.
