Carls Helping Carls

This campaign ended on July 01, 2020, but you can still make a gift to Carleton College by clicking here!

“You are forever a part of Carleton, and Carleton is forever a part of you.”

- Larry Gould, former Carleton president

This spring, in the face of unprecedented challenges, we watched our faculty, staff and students step up to finish the school year strong and with a great deal of innovation. We saw alumni do their part by pitching in during a global pandemic. Although it has been difficult to keep our distance physically, we learned that even when we are apart, Carls help Carls.

We are asking every member of the Carleton community to come together to support our students with a gift to the Alumni Annual Fund. Maybe in the past you’ve assumed that others are giving to Carleton and your dollars won’t make a difference. This is the year to challenge that notion. We look forward to your help in demonstrating the combined strength of Carleton, expressing unity and solidarity as a caring community of Carls.

Even if you’ve already given to Carleton this year, we hope those in a position to do so will consider making a gift designated to one of these key areas to help us reach our Carls Helping Carls goal by June 30:

  • Area of Greatest Need Allow the College the flexibility to allocate your gift toward an area of need that requires the most immediate attention.
  • Financial Aid Contributions allow Carleton to meet 100% of demonstrated financial need for all students. Gifts to Financial Aid provide access for students from low and middle-income backgrounds, as well as students who are ineligible for federal student aid, such as DACA and international students.
  • Student Life Emergency Fund Make an immediate impact on the lives of students faced with unexpected expenses due to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Life and Career Your gift enriches the student experience with an enormous range of support services and opportunities, including community volunteer programs, vibrant residential life, Student Health and Counseling (SHAC), the Career Center, vital student offices such as the Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC), Office of Intercultural and International Life (OIIL), and more.
  • Multicultural Alumni Network Fellows Your gift will support internships, research experiences, or other field-based opportunities for students of color in fields that offer no compensation or compensation lower than the pro-rated equivalent of entry-level salary.
  • Learning and Teaching Your gift supports the core mission of Carleton, creating an exceptional academic experience that transforms lives in the true liberal arts tradition.
  • Carleton Athletic Initiative Support the College’s rich tradition of excellence outside of the classroom by helping to fund athletic and recreational activities that large numbers of students value and depend on for health, personal growth, a balanced life, and leadership opportunities.
