Student Success Grants

Consider making an immediate impact on student success! Our Student Success Grants offer assistance to students for various circumstances and are offered throughout the academic year. Whether it is a flat tire, textbooks, or scrubs, our student grants support it all.

Life Happens Grant- The Student Crisis Fund was created to assist students whose circumstances prevent them from continuing their education at Carl Sandburg College. Sandburg's Foundation is potentially able to help with one-time, non-recurring expenses that are an emergency situation.

Nursing Success Grant- The Nursing Success grant was created from generous donor support to help lower educational and financial barriers related to initial textbook costs and fees for stethoscopes, uniforms, clinical supplies, daycare costs and availability, reliable transportation, fuel prices and other end-of-program costs like board fees and fingerprinting.

Dental Hygiene Success Grant- The Dental Hygiene Success grant was created to help support lower educational and financial barriers related to initial textbook costs and fees for dental instruments, uniforms, clinical supplies, daycare costs and availability, reliable transportation, fuel prices and other end-of-program costs like board fees and fingerprinting.

Textbook and Course Supplies Grant- This grant offers a jumpstart to Sandburg student success. Sponsored by the Carl Sandburg College Foundation, the initiative awards funding to assist students with the costs of renting or purchasing textbooks and course supplies.

Tools of the Trade Grant- The Tools of the Trade success grant is awarded to offset the cost of the following items through the Carl Sandburg College Bookstore:

• Equipment and/or supplies to a currently enrolled part‐ or full‐time student enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program at Carl Sandburg College, including:
  • Program required tools and tool storage
  • Uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE)
