Every child deserves a light-filled life.
“It’s been very challenging for us to find camps that [our son is] comfortable going to. When I picked him up today, he got in the car and without prodding said, ‘Mom, I had a GREAT day.’ When I asked him to try and explain to me what was different about this camp from the many others we’ve tried he said, ‘I don’t know how to say it. I got to work on my own and have ‘my independence’ and it’s just that the other camps with all the stuff and people, they make me feel dark but CHAW camp makes me feel light!’ Cue mommy-tears . . .
Capitol Hill Arts Workshop is a special place for kids.
. . .Anyway, there’s something about the space, and your programming and demeanor that has hit the mark for my little guy.” - CHAW Parent (Spring 2019)
The arts provide a space for children to experience limitless creativity and freedom to discover the things they love, to find their confidence, to know they belong: and no child should ever be denied those fundamental childhood joys. Not all children have this kind of special place--one that makes them feel light and independent--and it isn’t right.
With your financial support, CHAW’s Paint Bucket Campaign for Tuition Assistance ensures a place where every child can experience this joy. Our goal is to raise $70,000 by July 22, 2019. With the support of our wonderful community, we've met this goal before and together, we can do it again. Please make a donation to this important campaign today.

Watch as Mr. Brian makes is second stop to pick up kids with one of CHAW's two new passenger vans. After school pickup service is vital for our youth arts program.
1952 days ago by Amy MooreWe are the proud owners of TWO NEW VANS! We use them to pick kids up from schools and homeless shelters so they can attend classes and camps at CHAW as well as for field trips around the city. They are essential for our outreach that your Paint Bucket dollars support.
