Put your passion for the Cap Family on display! If you successfully encourage three or more of your fellow alumni to give, we'll send you some Capital Alumni tech tattoos.

Donate $50
Only 50 left!
Our limited edition Capital Alumni 1830 scarves are one of our most popular and hardest-to-get swag items. Make a gift of $50 or more and we'll send you one of these soccer-style scarves so you're all set to cheer on Capital athletics or just stay warm when the winter comes! (There are only a few of these left--once they're gone, they're gone for good. Limited to the first 75 eligible donors.)
About

Our challenge to Capital’s young alumni is about continued participation—both as cheerleaders and advocates for the university as well as becoming the next generation of donors who help sustain both Capital and the Cap Family.

Named to celebrate the year of Capital University’s founding, the 1830 Challenge is a giving competition for Capital’s young alumni. (This year, that means members of the undergraduate classes of 2005-2019.) The class year with the most alumni participating as annual fund donors wins the challenge—along with the bragging rights and some Capital alumni swag! All donors from the winning class year will receive one of our new Capital alumni camper mugs, and there are other ways to earn more items as well.

Gifts made through this challenge can go to the Capital Fund (supports areas of greatest need throughout the university) or to a designated annual fund to support specific departments or programs. (You don't have to be a member of one of the challenged classes to participate—in fact, anyone is eligible to receive the incentives other than the mug for our winning class year.)

With your help over the course of 1,830 minutes, we can support the new students who will add to Capital’s long history and become proud alumni.

Updates
THANK YOU. (And congrats to the Class of 2016!)

Wow.

That last couple of hours was exciting!

We are so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Your participation was inspiring, and we are really proud to see how Capital's alumni rose to our challenge. Your generosity at the beginning of our academic year goes a long way to getting us off to a good start.

Now, that being said... we are proud to declare the Class of 2016 as winners of our very first 1830 Challenge!

(We're planning on getting a trophy to commemorate your win.)

We'll be sending out mugs to the winning donors in the next week or so. Those of you that earned the scarves as an incentive can look for those soon as well.

Also, we promised some pint glasses to random donors. Here are the names we just drew: Alice Kinsinger, Jacob McCabe, Austin Reid.

Finally, while we were in the final hour of the challenge we had an orientation group drop by the Alumni House to do a breakout session--we asked them to pose for a quick photo. Say hi to the members of Group 23! You just helped them start their journey as members of the Cap Family. Thank you again.

Well on our way! We're raising a glass to you all.

Thank you to all the donors who have helped us pass the "50 Donor" mark in the 1830 Challenge! We're more than one third of the way to our goal with just about 24 hours to go.

We thought it'd be good to celebrate our donors by raising a pint. (Well, maybe a couple of them?) So we've decided to randomly draw a name or two from all the challenge donors after the clock runs out and send them a pair of our "Raising a Glass to All My Cap Family" pint glasses...

(Anyone who participates is eligible to win the pint glasses, not just members of the winning class year.)

Don't forget, you can also use the share buttons on the 1830 Challenge page to share the challenge on social media or directly by email or text. If three other people give because of your encouragement, you'll also receive our new Capital Alumni tech tattoos.

Thank you again for your support and for helping us reach our goal!
