Gifts to OtterCare: Beyond the Hub contribute to...
Basic Needs is reintroduced as OtterCare
As you begin to see and hear a new name and message across campus, this evolution reflects a simple but powerful idea that we all thrive together. OtterCare represents an intentional shift towards institutionalizing care, reducing stigma for students who connect with support resources, and making those resources more visible and accessible across the university. The change reinforces that seeking support is a strength, that care is a shared responsibility.
Beyond the Hub supports our most food insecure students on campus. Help OtterCare to purchase more nutritious staples for every Hub Box we create.
What’s a Hub Box?
A personalized grocery order for students who may not have the time or resources to access nutritious food. Otters can pick up their Hub box once a week to fill their meal needs. Currently, we rely largely on donations from local grocers and our goal is to be able to provide a more consistent item list availability to our students to choose from. Our goal is to increase students’ food security and ensuring that No Otter Goes Hungry!
All university programs and activities are open and available to all regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin. Consistent with California law and federal civil rights laws, Cal State Monterey Bay provides equal opportunity in education and employment without unlawful discrimination or preferential treatment based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin. Our commitment to equal opportunity means ensuring that every student and employee has access to the resources and support they need to thrive and succeed in a university environment and in their communities. Cal State Monterey Bay complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the California Equity in Higher Education Act, California’s Proposition 209 (Art. I, Section 31 of the California Constitution), other applicable state and federal anti-discrimination laws, and CSU’s Nondiscrimination Policy. We prohibit discriminatory preferential treatment, segregation based on race or any other protected status, and all forms of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in all university programs, policies, and practices.
