Gifts to Empower Our Comunidad (Community) contribute to...

El Centro at Cal State Monterey Bay is a welcoming space dedicated to supporting and celebrating students who identify with, or want to learn more about, the Latiné identity. We recognize the importance of academic empowerment, community building, and cultural expression within the university setting.
Through developmental workshops, peer engagement, and social experiences, El Centro fosters a strong sense of belonging and cultural pride — while encouraging dialogue around the richness and diversity of the Latiné experience.
Whether you're exploring your cultural heritage or seeking resources to thrive at CSUMB, El Centro is here for you. Somos para todos (we are for all)!
Your gift to El Centro not only serves CSUMB’s Latiné student population, but also benefits every individual that participates in our array of offerings that are available to all community members on campus.
Want to know what your donation will specifically fund?
- Increasing Sense of Belonging: Our signature Mariposa Mentorship Program and partnerships with on-campus resources help students not only stay connected with their heritage, but also feel driven to share with others
- Securing Basic Needs: Through workshops on financial literacy, FAFSA/CADAA and CalFresh application support our center is ensuring no otter is left behind and in worry of meeting their basic needs.
- Improving Student Retention & Graduation: From our staff and faculty Colectiva group to our Exito en el Centro innovative series, we bring the CSUMB community together to ensure the academic success of our students.
Thank you for helping empower our community.
