Your support will help sustain the Conference for Emerging Black Academics in STEM (CEBAS) for the year to come. CEBAS is an annual interdisciplinary research conference hosted at Caltech that celebrates and elevates the work of Black scholars across STEM. CEBAS brings together students, postdocs, faculty, and professionals from around the country to share research, build connections, and engage across disciplines.
Your support helps CEBAS by funding conference programming, speaker and attendee participation, and the infrastructure needed to keep this important event accessible and impactful for years to come.
The conference features oral presentations, special seminars, panel discussions on academic and industry career paths, a poster session, and community-building events. Open to all, CEBAS creates a vibrant space for intellectual exchange, professional development, and support for emerging scholars.
Hosted at one of the world’s leading science and engineering institutions, CEBAS also helps establish Caltech as a hub for interdisciplinary exchange, research excellence, and the celebration of diverse voices in STEM. Since its founding, the conference has grown to welcome more than 150 attendees, reflecting both its impact and the need for spaces like it.
CEBAS is organized by the graduate student leadership of the Black Scientists & Engineers of Caltech (BSEC), whose mission is to support the careers, community, and professional development of Black scientists and engineers.
